Over 1 Million Dollars From Sitting Down At My Kitchen Table... 😱

If I told you that I've made over $1 million for simply sitting
down at my kitchen table, and deciding to start WRITING, would
you be impressed.

We'll, that is a true story, but when I tell you the full story,
it's perhaps not so impressive, but it should still inspire a few
readers.

Here's the story...

One day, while sitting at my kitchen table, in base housing, at
Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, I asked myself "What can I do to
earn a little extra money over the internet?"

I'd actually been making a little extra change over the internet
long before that, but NOW I was ready for even MORE!

I understood from all that I had read that I was only one good
idea away from MILLIONS.

As I thought about that, I decided to act upon a request that I
had received over and over again from subscribers to a relatively
small email list that I had built in the cooking niche.

Subscribers to a recipe exchange email list had asked me over and
over again if I had a cookbook, and had told me that they would
buy one if I wrote it!

So, that fateful day, I decided to WRITE that cookbook.

I turned on my beat up laptop, made a list of recipes that I felt
fit the category "soul food" and then began writing.

Less than two months later, I had a complete manuscript, AND well
over  100 advance orders.

You see, to force myself to actually follow through on the idea,
I announced to my email list that I WAS writing a cookbook AND
that I was taking advance orders.

When the money starts flowing in, you'd better get busy writing
:-)

I deliberately backed myself into a corner because I knew that
would propel me into action... something I had done numerous
times before that fateful day, and have done numerous times since
then!

Now, what makes the numbers not so impressive is that I wrote
that cookbook back in 2000.

The copyright notice in the copies I have sitting next to my desk
read 2001, but that's because that's when I had sold enough
copies, and had enough "spare change" to afford to have a LOT of
copies of the cookbook professionally printed.

If you were to assume that I made a mere $1 million over the past
20 years, since I first wrote that cookbook, that's only $50,000
per year.  However, $50,000 is STILL more than the average
American earns TODAY working a full-time regular J-O-B.

I'm still getting paid on a few hours work that I did TWENTY
YEARS AGO :-)

I'm sharing this story with you tonight because I'm officially
ending part of that era.

You see, for all of the past 20 years, my small team physically
mailed MOST of those cookbook from our offices... but with Amazon
also shipping some.

Now that I'm almost completely out of copies in my
mini-warehouse, I have decided that I want Amazon to handle All
of the order fulfillment, and just send me most of the money via
direct deposit :-)
