Text Me Please

How Are YOU Doing ?

This is a little different from my regular ezine...

I started Sunday morning out joining a Zoom meeting,
just as I do every morning.

In this particular meeting, I was reminded of how
seldom we actually reach out to people... in love,
and how much many of us suffer or feel lonely in
silence.

Today, it's easier to just say "Hi" or "I was
thinking about you... how are you doing" than ever
before.

Heck, I personally have:

- a cell phone where I can call or send a text

- Facebook where I can send a  message via FB Messenger,
or do a voice or video call

- Skype where I can communicate for free via voice,
text or video.  With Skype and an internet connection,
long distance calls are virtually free. The other person
just needs to have a Skype account too. To do Skype
to a phone of someone without a Skype account is also
doable, but for a very small fee.

- What's App - Very popular with many people in many
places, but I haven't used the app on my phone in well over
a year...

- Messenger on my iPad

... and several other ways to reach out to people.

At one time, I wasn't very big into making phone calls.
In fact, my mother used to joke when I'd call her, asking
"Who Is This!"

I called my mother once every 1-2 months, and could tell
that she really enjoyed the calls.  Now that she is gone,
I regret not calling her more often.

Today, with my parents, grandparents, and two siblings
deceased, I'm left with two brother, whom I do reach out
to regularly.

My baby brother calls me more often than I call him, and
often it is just to make small talk.  Being the type
person who used to rarely make calls longer than 10 minutes,
my calls with my brother are often punctuated with moments
of silence, just because if I don't have anything significant
to say then I don't say anything :-)

On my morning Zoom call this morning, the topic of a friend
losing a relative came up.  I of course immediately wondered
how  I should and would reach out to him.  I have his phone
number, and he's a FB Friend.

I know that just a quick call expressing my condolence
WOULD be appreciated.  At least, I know that having people
reach out to me when I lost my mother was appreciated.
Knowing that someone else CARED did make the pain a little
less.

I also know that if I was uncomfortable and didn't want to
speak to my friend in person, during this difficult
time, then even a text message would be appreciated. The
call would be better, so that IS what I will do.

I share all this with you today because I want to encourage
you to reach out to someone whom you haven't communicated
with in a while. Call them, text them, "Facebook them"...
but do reach out to at least one person whose day you would
probably make.

I actually make a habit of reaching out to people everyday,
because you never know what people in your life are going
through.  You never know if hearing from you may be just
what they needed :-)

I just asked you to text me.

I did that because I wanted to "SHOW YOU" how I reach out
to 5-10 people per day lately.  It takes very little time,
but I know that it makes a world of difference.

I won't keep it a mystery...

I want to show you how, each morning, I log in to my laptop,
and then compose and send "a simple greeting card" to
whoever is on my mind that particular day.  It could be a
friend, a relative, an old high school or college classmate,
an old military buddy that I haven't seen in "decades" or
perhaps a former teach whom I never told how much of a
difference they made in my life.

If you want to reach out and touch someone by sending them
an unexpected card, I'll pay for it :-)

I asked you to text me because, if you want, I'll get on a
Zoom video call, and step you through the process of sending
that card.  All that you need is the address of someone that
you want to send the card to.  If you want to add personal
photos to the front and/or inside of the card, you need to
have those handy too.

You can send this card from your phone, tablet or
computer. I often send them from my iPhone when I'm out
and about, but prefer using my laptop... mainly because
I have big hands and prefer a larger keyboard :-)

You CAN just go to my webpage and send the card without me
stepping you through the process.  To do that you simply
visit:  http://TheCardThingy.com  where everything is
explained in several short videos on the page.

On that page, you'll notice a button up near the top that
say "Send a Card."  Clicking on that button will allow you
to send ONE free full-color greeting card, via first-class
mail, to ANYONE, ANYWHERE in the world :-)

Visiting the site through my webpage at:
http://TheCardThingy.com and clicking on the "Send a Card"
button basically gives you backdoor access to my account
where it's set up so that you (or anyone) can take the
system for a test drive on me.

If you like the system as much as I do, then you can send
other cards (and even add gifts) any time that want... and
it's both convenient and inexpensive.

I personally send real, full-color personalized greeting
cards via first-class mail for LESS THAN $1 each... and
that's my total cost including the first-class postage
anywhere in the world.

In case you can't tell, I LOVE using this system. I've
been using it regularly since 2004. YES, for 16 years this
is one of the simple ways that I have brightened people's
day. Sending these cards also brightens my day, because as I
write these cards envisioning others reactions upon receiving
an unexpected card, it brings a smile to my face!

When I sent my father's 95 year old, only surviving sibling
a card, she called me in tears!  That almost brought me to
tears...

Anyway, if you'd like for me to jump on a video call with
you and walk you through sending a card, just text me to
set up a time, and so that I can send you a Zoom link.

The card is 100% free, but if you do fall in love with the
system, which you can access in seconds from a phone app, I
would earn a tiny commission on each card that you send :-)

Text me at your convenience, and let's set up that demo. I
honestly have no expectations other than you smiling when
you know that you have just touched someone who needed it!

Please text me at  850-621-2116

If I don't respond right away, that means that I'm either
on a Zoom call with someone else, or out working in my
garden :-)

Have a blessed day ,
Willie
